Dear Mr Paldex and Kishor.

I have sent a mail with the above article to both of you.
These gentlement can get back to me if they have not recieved it .

It is a case history of retrospective analysis as to why a pipe failed in service. It shows how a good analyst could have predicted the possible failure before hand. Specifically how the failure could have been known before hand with dynamic analysis using Ceaser and a good finite element analysis tool.

As a novice I often tend to get carried away with a simple static anlysis solution and consider a pipe as safe if it passes code compliance test.

Knowledgeable people like who has first shared this article forewarn us to become more mature, more knowledgeable.

This article cautions us to know what more should be seen in by the analyst.

A good forum like this should exchange similar articles, case histories , and enlightening tips so that the knowledge levels increase.

I genuinely look forward with interest to see who responds to the younger brothers request for step by step guidance on how to do a piping analysis.

To them my first advice is read Ceaser users guide, technical reference manual . There are a couple of multimedia presentations in Ceaser to understand step by step procedures. Try them young brothers.

Best regards

Venugopal
