lol... just use Windows Firewall if anything and add a blocking rule otherwise someone will come saying that the new firewall software sends some data too and you will never end "protecting" yourself.
at least with Windows you know that they send for sure so you already hit the bottom.

It used to be better. A lot of the shops are closing due to the internet and I assume due to the fact a lot of the software manufacturers are releasing updates less frequently; but most importantly because mobile smart phone shops are taking their place. (Mobile smart phone shops are everywhere now too) DVD shops are better because they get the "original" verified copies from their network of
rather than versions on the internet; which can have viruses or are unverified. ETAP used to be in more specialised shops but now ETAP 12.6 it's everywhere. That's odd since it's a specialised program. Shenzhen in China used to be the best place in the world for
software but I haven't been to that particular city yet.

understanding the code what's happening "inside" the software requires high level skill in different language of programming* especially the language of the CPU.
Yeah!
There is a movie called "BlackHat"[link Point to another website Only the registered members can access]
It's about terrorists ****ing into nuclear power plant PC's and turning off the cooling system causing a nuclear meltdown.
It's possible ETAP gives them an exception (special build?!) due to security reasons.
To access the SCADA & Distributed Control System (DCS) network? Yikes. Let's hope they don't use Windows 10.
They have air gap computers. Nothing is talking to them. Unless some one brings in a wireless modem; but they can detect that. As Bloomberg reported; The US Department of Homeland Security ran a test in 2011 to see how hard it was for ****ers to corrupt workers and gain access to computer systems. Not very hard it turned out. Homeland Security Staff secretly dropped computer discs and USB thumb drives in the parking lots of government buildings and private contractors. Of those who picked them up; 60 per cent plugged the devices into office computers; curious to see what they contained. If the drive or CD case had an official logo; 90 per cent were installed.
