Thread: Carbon Steel in Pressure Vessels with CO2

  1. Carbon Steel in Pressure Vessels with CO2

I would appreciate any recommendations for Carbon Steel in gas separator with 7% CO2.
I would like to avoid Stainless Steel.
    What Material do you recommend?

    ,

    Abarriop,

    Use Carbon Steel - SA-516 Gr. 70N + 3.2 mm SS 316L CLAD + NACE MR0175

    I'm sure it is enough..

    Cheers..

  6. Re: Carbon Steel in Pressure Vessels with CO2

    Thank you very much duazo2009.

Nevertheles there was a mistake in my first message, the quantity of CO2 it isn't 7%, the correct value is 0,7%.

I thought that NACE MR 0175 it was only for SH2.

Please, Would you mind to recommend again with the new data?

    Cheers.

it's interesting to see some base their design decision or may be their career on recommendations through internet forums.

There is nothing wrong in asking questions and collecting information as much as possible before going for a critical mission.People asking questions due to various reasons.Few people ask questions for fun,few ask questions to expand their current level of knowledge, few ask questions to know any kind of past failure .

    This is my opinion.

    Enjoy
