Can anyone comment on their experiences regarding injector performance for vertical wells versus horizontal wells? It appears that vertical injectors in high permeability sands fail early after experiencing a rapid loss of injectivity. A number of factors have been blamed such as downhole waterhammer. The use of downhole valves has been advocated to solve such problems as well as use of horizontal wells. What has been a typical injector life span under matrix and under fracture injection conditions? Any comments and experiences will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Nunzio
