Hello guys,

I am looking for procedure to test an oil well. The test consists to put the well on test separator and determine gas, oil and water flow rate. I wonder how long I have to test the well to have significant measurements.

Hello, it is so simple, You must proceed to reach constatn values of pressure, and oil rate, it depends which flow component is more important for You or company, when You reach constat pressure it is so possible to reach constant rate,
- aslo it is important to have after test a Production Index, what is so helpful for next interpretation by software safir, pansystem, welltest 200 ect...)
- when You finish flow period, you also shut in the well and record buildup after some time (24-36 hrs), and it is also depends on regional behavior of reservoir, knowledge by experience.
- and that's all, during well testing contorol, gas gravity for gas metering, and oil gravity also for mass flowmeter data matching and reporting
- control BSW and water content in oil form test separator.
