Hi!!!
I have some problems with flashpoint determination methods. As far as I know, the typical method is Pensky Martens (ASTM D 93) for a Diesel Fluid, concretly HSD. This fuel, is provided by an Indian oil company. In the health and Safety Executive (
www.hsebooks.co.uk) the flash point temperature difference between Abel method and Pensky Martens is about 1.7ºC lower and 6ºC higher. But in Indian Standard 1460 we have a these data:
Abel: 35ºC
Pensky- Martens closed cup: 66ºC.
What's wrong? or Have I made a mistake in any hypothesis?
If you have more information about flashpoint determination, please let me know,
Thanks in advance.
