  • Producing time, Horner, MBA

    Hi

    I'm stuggling with understanding the "producing time" parameter required for Horner-plots and subsequent MBA analysis. How do I find the optimal modified producing time, or at least an acceptable interval for analysis?

    I have tried to do analysis with different producing times and I get different kh and p* (from Horner plot) depending on what I use. The estimated average pressure (from MBH analysis), seems to stay the same, provided that the kh stays the same.

      If you have multirate test, U can use this formula

      tp= Cummulative production/last flow rate

      I agree with Umair shafeeq.....lso remember that when you use production time.....you can also simplify your solution by not taking into account the full production rate history...but say for instance...take 60% rate history for tp and 40% of the flow rates......this can simplify yoyur solution a bit and would give you +/- 5% error ...on the answer you would get on using the complete history which is quite time taking....
