    Producing time, Horner, MBA

    Hi

I'm stuggling with understanding the "producing time" parameter required for Horner-plots and subsequent MBA analysis. How do I find the optimal modified producing time, or at least an acceptable interval for analysis?

I have tried to do analysis with different producing times and I get different kh and p* (from Horner plot) depending on what I use. The estimated average pressure (from MBH analysis), seems to stay the same, provided that the kh stays the same.

  3. production time mostly effects the boundary lengths. what I would do is, I would load all the production history than step by step decrease it. As far as I know, emprical equations are not sufficient to define minimum production time. So dont limit yourself with the test production time if the well has been producing before, consider everything. Dont forget, you don't need to have pressures for producing interval if you are interpreting the build up!
