Hi, The topic above has been always in my mind and after several attempts both in practical/operations and planning phase, I think it is possible. Few cases are not recommended fast drill but in general, all operators are looking for a best performance. Ive just got a SPE paper posting "The Best Driller in the Gulf of Mexico" by Romain Griffon and Jacob Gauthier, IADC/SPE 151482 Sometimes, you have to be courageous and challenge the present. Normally, pump fast you can drill faster. Personally, I put this in practice in several wells and it is true. However, it is not easy to convince people to do this. Although drilling managers and drlg superintendents are challenge for best performance, most of them don’t want to risk and it doesn’t matter if it is Exploration or Development/production. Is it possible to drill fast? How can we systematically approach the topic in our planing and operation?
I have got knowledge from anyone in this website thank you somuch

I need to do sizing of safety relief valves for jacketed vessels for pressure exerted due to thermal expansion of liquid locked inside jacket. I searched a lot but it is stated that for this scenario 3/4"x 1"" size valves with typically orifice diameter of 0.38 sqm to be isnstalled. I do not understand without a proper sizing calculation can we install safety relief valve? I can understand that specifying a set pressure is not a problem but how can we be sure about its relieving capacity? If anyone has any idea regarding this then I would appriciate that. I do not need ready excel sheet or something. I need a refrence material from which I can do my calculations or get some guidance. Thanks in advance.
