realtime hydrocarbons properties with Prode Thermodynamic Server

we are considering to install Prode Thermodynamic Server

[link Point to another website Only the registered members can access]
to work with our Gas Chromatographs to monitor properties such as Cricondentherm* Hydrate Formation Temperature* Water Dew Point etc.

our DCS can communicate via MODBUS and Prode Server has MODBUS (plus OPC) but errors with MODBUS seem difficult to manage (compared with OPC)*
we could set a coil or a similar signal (while with OPC we could catch the details)*
do you have experience with realtime process applications via MODBUS protocol ?
How do you manage errors ?

with Prode Thermodynamic Server you can set a specific channel (a boolean) for errors*
but* yes* there are some limits compared to OPC*
why don't you switch to OPC (which is supported by Prode Thermodynamic Server) if that looks as better solution to you ?

    thanks*
the OPC option requires additional DCS card (expensive)*
anyway* we have solved with MODBUS.
