we are going to drill a new vertical well wich is spaced about 600 m about the existing producer (it's average oil rate is about 9m3/hr and cum oil about 260000 m3)* we have only DST data for this producer (no pressure data after 3years of production)* the kh was about 160mdm (it's well test response matchs Infinite acting radial flow).
I desagree with this spacing*I found it small* for me if we will drill this well we will interfere with the existing well* as result we will bring quickly the reservoir pressure below Pb pressure.
They are saying we are allowed to drill at this distance because it's a tight reservoir (but kh=160mdm considered among the best wells* the tighter one has a kh about 20mdm)
How I can convince my manager?
I searched on the internet how to calculate the drainage area of a vertical well* because I was told that the radius of investigation of the DST is not the same as that of the production* I got confused.
Radius of investigation represents how far into the reservoir the transient effects have traveled.[link Point to another website Only the registered members can access]
I want to do hand calculation in order to check? I need your precious help.
