Welding pad into existing pipe trunion

Would you please advice is there any code restrict to conduct additional pad on pipe trunion without further hydrotest.

It is not clear whether you want to weld the pad on the pipe trunnion (non-pressure part) or to reinforcing pad already present on shell or to the pressure part shell directly.
It is also important to know whether your equipment is subjected to PWHT or not* Code stamped (since permission will be required from the AI) etc.

I suggest you refer to the NBIC Part 3 code and check whether your work falls into repair category* alteration category or routine work category.

If you are welding to the pressure membrane you are performing hot work onto the pressure membrane therefore you should ideally perform a pressure test to prove the integrity!!!
