Thread: Very Uncommon Dissimilar Soldering

  1. Very Uncommon Dissimilar Soldering

    Hi everyone*

In a near future I'll be soldering René 41 to Inconel 718. As I'm not experienced with this unusual combo of materials* I did some research which come to this:
1st Option: Soft soldering with 60Sn40Pb using (Zinc Chloride) acid flux.
2nd Option: Brazing with a silver alloy (which I didn't spend the right amount of time to select).

This is meant to be an electrical connection* and the soldering or brazing process will be carried out before assembly.

So* I know many of you who read >electrical connection< will say this is a no go for the 1st option* so if you need some details besides the ones I just gave* please ask me

Which one is the best option? Do you have a better idea than the above-mentioned?

    Regards from Zodiark!
