It has been a long time I have been searching for the exact time duration for the hydrotest of piping in refinery. But most of the codes including ASME B31 do not answer it clearly. The minimum time seems to be 10 minutes however* our company's usual practice is 30 minutes minimum. It is not possible to convince the contractor on this time period without the support of any code reference. Please guide me in this regard.
