This publication is based on the research & practical experience cases (Mr.Pieter Kampers) and follow up IMCA guideline & EN 12385-4 Standard. Cable Laid/Cable Laid Gromment Slings is made from Unit rope/wire rope. After researching and through out some practical experience cases, we found out that: if Cable laid/cable laid Grommet slings made by unit rope/wire rope with 8 strands & EEEIPS grade, it will be brittle at the bend of cable laid/cable laid grommet and make it be *****ed/damaged (as picture) because the 8 strands ropes have a larger core and they are more sensitive to core issues, the core rope of and 8-strand rope has, compared to the outer strands, a very big diameter. Therefore, we advise to use Cable laid/cable laid Grommet slings made by unit rope/wire rope with 6 strands & EEIPS grade will be good for lifting slings as IMCA & EN 12385-4 instruction.
