I posted this in the Structural Engineering section as well, but I thought maybe this part of the forum will have some insight into this.

Does anyone have a sample derrick mast and substructure design calculation package that I can review? I am trying to submit a generic derrick design to get API 4F licensure and I am not sure where to start.

I have the API 4F specification that I am reading through but if anyone has an example on how the API 4F requirements are applied to a derrick design, I would appreciate it!

Most importantly, I would like to know what the typical dead, live, and wind loads (wind speed?) values are for derrick design (40 psf? 100 psf? 150 psf? I have no idea). I'm not even sure what the minimum height requirement for the substructure is supposed to be. I am just starting my research on how to do derrick design so any guidelines or examples would be appreciated.

If I can just get all of the parameters established, I can run an FEA analysis of the mast and substructure, but like I said, I don't know what load values (dead, live, wind) to apply to the derrick for analysis.
