    fluid contacts in MBAL

    Hello everyone

I’m using martial balance t (Mbal) to calculate fluid contacts, after modeling my reservoir and inserting all its data ( history production , pressure….ext) I need to know some parameters that I should understand to calculate fluids contacts (GOC and WOC), so in Mbal the way to do it is by definition of Pore Volume vs. Depth parameters. In fact I need to know how I calculate Pore volume factor and it’s real meaning. By the way I have a case of cas-cap, oil and strong aquifer.

    regards

your geologist may be able to help you here. Take the Depth structure map and for each depth say 10 ft you have to estimate the volume by first estimating the area then the net pay to get the pore volume. This method has certain limitation as it does not takes into account reservoir heterogeneity. Good Luck!
