Question Require Information Regarding Sulphur recovery Unit

    Dear Member's

    I need a Drawing or a System
which can help me to understand
Steam & Condensate System on Sulphur
Degassing vessel (with Sulphur Jacketed Lines Jump overs)
    in Sulphur Recovery Unit

    My problem is ...!!
How can i reduce so many tapping on main Steam & Condensate header
coz here with me in my Degassing vessel there are so many Steam & Condensate (3/4" / 0.75") nozzles kept on it and also i have to supply steam in all jacketed line

Assuming Quick Response from All Members......!!!!

Note:- If any Member have Picture of Sulphur recovery plant
Please upload it or send me a mail on Netime_Neway@Yahoo.com

    Many Thanks in Advance

    What is your real problem?

The number of steam and condensate lines or the number of nozzles on the top of the degassing vessel?

routing of steam & condensate lines on degassing vessel

coz in my case we have around 42-45 steam inlet & out let nozzles & the size of nozzles are 3/4"

    please Help me

I do not have detail drawings to share, but I guess the way is to provide dry steam by means of jumpovers from the steam jackets of the lines connecting to these nozzles and trapping steam condensate from low points. This apparently is to avoid solidification of sulfur in the nozzles. The title you have given for the post is misleading, this probably should have read "Steam Jacketting for Process Lines" or something to that effect. The arrangement should be similar for any vessel or piping in comparable service. The following link may be of some limited use.

    Please explain your problem.
Your degassing section seems not a typical SRU refinery application.
Sulphur degassing is usually downstream the Claus (air or oxy) to remove dissolved H2S.
By the way your question about the routing of steam and condensate pipes seems to be a piping question more than a process question.
Normally you get the design of the degassing section together with the Claus unit.
Sulphur lines shall be fully jacketed for sure. LP Steam is normal - remind pressure shall not be too low or it will result in plugging. Therefore consider steam subheaders shall not have too high pressure drops in order to grant enought pressure (so condensing temperature) above sulphur solidification. Steam traps on condensate side shall be commissioned and controlled to make sure they operate properly.

  14. Dear Buddy, please elaborate your problem in detial, so we may be helpful four you, if you need Process flow diagram of Sulfrur Recovery Unit, it can be provided
