Seismic & Wind forces on vessel

    Asslamoalikum

I was referring Pressure vessel design calculation prepared by Sir Abdel Halim Galala. In that calculation, while studying zick's method for saddle calculation, i come to the point of seismic force. in this calculation the data was selected for seismic zone 2A. I think data was taken by UBC 1997. Please can anyone suggest how can I find those table from where i can choose value of seismic zone factor, importance factor, numerical coefficient and numerical coefficient?

    Please help for better understanding.

    Hi Spons

Shear force and overturn moment due to seismic loads shall be defined by the mechanical designer according to applicable Code; but the seismic spectrum and applicable factors shall be defined as per soil mechanics study by the civil department
Then, do not worry about it and ask this information to the civil guy

I hope it answers your doubt

    Regards,
    Fernando
