Thread: Oil reserves the USA had.

  1. Oil reserves the USA had.

    Hello Petroleum Community Forum.

I have tried many places to get this question answered, but have been unsuccessful.

Can anyone tell me if the USA originally had the largest oil reserves on earth ?

And approximately what were these original USA reserves ?

    Thank You

Your question wasn't clear and seemed like a large topic to cover. I am not sure whether you are talking about Conventional oil and gas (Saudi Arabia is the known for owning majority of oil and gas reserves) or Unconventional oil and gas (Shale Oil, Shale gas, Oil Shale, CBM, etc.) where US is producing a lot of oil and gas from their Eagleford, Haynesville, Bakken, Marcellus, Barnett, etc.

    Hello reservoirengineer.

I was meaning conventional oil reserves specifically, trying to find out if the USA had originally the largest reserves but used them up.

    Thanks
for your Links which I will investigate.

I think he is looking for more like how much was the estimate of Oil and gas (conventional) and then how much was it for Oil and Gas (unconventional).
