Dear Fellow,

For the distillation column calculation purposes for crude oil, it is required to convert the ASTM curve into TBP and then to EFV.
This is necessary for process simulators and its EOS.
But now it is unclear which temperature (derived from TBP-Curve or EFV) is required for sizing an evaporator,
where I have to define the product temperatures difference from inlet to outlet.

This means in detail:

Measured ASTM IBP = 230°C --> convertet to TBP = 217 °C --> convertet to EFV = 250°C
Measured ASTM FBP = 300 °C --> convertet to TBP = 300 °C --> convertet to EFV = 285 °C

The process simulator show me the EFV temperatures in the simulation. The dT is 35°C, the dT for TBP is 83 °C.
So now the question is, which temperarure diffenceshall I take for calc of heat duty and LMTD?
