Why to build a model in a software as sahara and instead of a numerical simulator as cmg or eclipse?
How do I calibrate my model in sahara?
Do you know somewhere where I can download?
Thank.

Sahara performs analytical calculations of waterflooding performance (Bucley-Leverett, CGM, Segregated flow) as opposed to numerical simulation which solves numerically the fluid flow equations.
Analytical models simplify the complex problem of fluid flow in porous media by a set of assumptions which depends on the analytical model being used (Bucley-Leverett, CGM, Segregated flow) but provides an accurate/exact solution to that simplified problem. On the other hand, numerical models provide an approximate solution to the more complex (non-simplified) problem. A good statement that summarizes this is that the difference between analytical vs numerical solutions (or models) is that "an analytical solution is an exact solution for an approximated problem; but a numerical solution is an approximate solution to an exact problem".
- Why to build a model in a software like Sahara instead of using a numerical simulator?
- There are cases in which analytical models are preferred over numerical models, but in some other cases the opposite is true. Simply consider the pros and cons of each approach and decide which one is better in your case. In addition to the technical reasons that influence this choice, some companies look at cost/time issues (Sahara is cheaper and takes less time to provide results), others consider that the skills and training needed to use a numerical simulator are much more demanding that those needed to use Sahara; even the personal preferences by the staff in charge are a determining factor.
There might be several other factors to make this choice, simply make yours based on what is better in your case.
