Thread: Head loss in reducers/expanders

  1. Head loss in reducers/expanders

    Hi all,

I am trying to calculate the head loss in standard reducers (8" to 6") and expanders. However, all the formulas I find use the angle of the fittings..Is there a simpler formula for a 'standard' fitting?

    Thanks

    Try this one:

[link Point to another website Only the registered members can access] (or, in chemwork.org, go to Technical Board, Hydraulics, Contraction, Expansion, Pressure Drop).
