    CMG Oil Recovery Factor Calculation

    Dear All,

I have a problem with reservoir simulation by using CMG Stars. Currently, I am doing a simulation of surfactant flooding. But I want to compare the result by using waterflood. I do waterflood in Stars. Unfortunately, the result shows that oil recovery is too high than if I calculate manually by using relative permeability curve (moveable oil). Does anyone can help me with this problem?

    Thanks

    Regards,
    Wisnu

Re: CMG Oil Recovery Factor Calculation

    Wids,

From kr curves movable oil saturation is 1-Swir-Sorw (above transition zone, i.e. neglecting capillary effects). However, reduction in Sorw due to surfactant injection leads to higher recovery than (1-Swir-Sor)/(1-Swir).

    Regards,
