Hi everyone,
I have recently been posted in acidization department for stimulation. I have gone through stimulation book by Economides. I want to know from where else should I start? Apart from theoretical aspects, my company uses Amonium BiFlouride to prepare HF.
1) Though there are 'standards' - in what quantities the chemicals should be used, I doubt them and want to know reason behind them. What I am really confused is when we prepare HF from ABF:
I came to know that when ABF is mixed in water, almost we get HF mass of 1/3rd of that of ABF mass. However, we generally use some concentrated HCl. Now ABF also reacts with HCl giving HF. So, exactly how much HCl and ABF is to be used for say, 10% HCl, 1% HF mud acid, with around 6 cubic meter of total mud acid volume (incl other additives).
2) Is there any standard mixing sequences that should be followed - like mixing EDTA/surfactants first in water?
3) Also, it would be very helpful if you can tell me what is the best way to prepare a job plan - without any use of software first. Because I am facing a situation where almost all jobs are carried out with same composition. Do we have to consider production history of any particular well?
4) If you have any material that I can read other than that by Economides, please do share if you can.
5) Are there any famous models prepared in past by anyone which can predict the results? (I want to clear the basics first, so no software first)
6) And, lastly, what softwares should be used when I am done with the basics. (I have good idea about reservoir engineering, skin damage, production profiles etc.)

Thanks in advance,
