Hello all,
I am currently in my final year as a petroleum engineering student (BS); previously I was enrolled as a chemical engineering student, but after interning in the petroleum industry I decided that I wanted to pursue petroleum engineering. I have found out that because of the advanced level chemistry courses I was required to take as a chemical engineering student, I now have the potential to earn a chemistry degree (BS) in addition to my petroleum engineering degree. This would require me to stay at minimum one extra semester to complete the extra courses, and in all likelihood would require two extra semesters. Would a chemistry degree provide a discernible edge over other candidates or would it be better to simply graduate with petroleum engineering and get industry experience ASAP?
Thank you for your responses, take care.
