i am preparing PQR for overlay with the following on SA516 GR 70


1)DUPLEX E2209 (SMAW 3.15 dia)

2) INCONEL ERNiCr-3 (MIG 1.2dia solid wire)

3) MONEL ERNICU-7 + ERCUNI (MIG 1.2 dia sloid wire)

4) DUPLEX ER2209 (MIG 1.2 dia solid wire)

my question is
1) is the pure chemistry of filler(consumable) must for qualifying CORROSION RESISTANT OVERLAY PQR
2) at what HEIGHT from base metal can I expect to get pure chemistry for above all consumable?

It depends on the overlap. I´ve done an overlay of inconel with mig and with two layers and a 4mm of overlap. We found at 3mm from fusion line the pure composition.
