Help with materials in Subsea Engineering

Please, i will be commencing the Subsea Engineering program at Houston. Is there anyone that is part of the program? Also, is there anyone that could be of help in recommending necessary materials and software for the program. Any form of assistance will be appreciated.

I think that Spt Olga or Pipesim might help you, depending on which simulation software you gonna be using in the lab for project.
I am interested in that program too, but i discovered it a little late so I still need to work on my GRE in other to apply. So what is the average GRE score required at UH for that program? What king of tuition do they apply there for that program? I know that for the certificate each class cost $3000. So how about the master program? is it the same cost per course?. Any Idea?
    Thanks

Thanks. I'll look into the software. It is the same price ($3000) per course for the MS program. As regards the GRE, 1200 should get you in. I had to submit a CV too. I reckon there might be other selection criteria. Best of luck.

    Thanks.
I am working now as a coiled tubing engineer, but i wanna change to another field , and the subsea engineering caught my attention. As per the news, The University of Houston will be offering also this program online, but I don't have no clue yet, since I am not located in Houston it will be very interesting for me.

That is some experience. I'm not coming from the Oil & Gas industry, as I found the industry to be motivating and financially rewarding. I don't know how the online program will be. But my years in industry has exposed me to the benefit of networking which is something I reckon I'll get doing the classroom education. Hope it turns out good. Where are you based?

I am based in Longview Texas, (approx. 3,5 hours from Houston)
This program looks very attractive and one of the reason is that it is very in the country; And also most of the subsea engineers who are working here don't have that level of training (master degree).

Yeah, it is good to know that not all your colleagues have the Subsea degree. But you should know better that experience counts more than degree. Most of this recruiters always want to see your level of experience in the field you are applying for.

I'll like to connect with you. You can send me a personal message on gigidili at yahoo dot com.
