Selection of different types of flanges....

Hi friends,

Can anybody help me to know what are the process/mechanical requirements to be taken into consideration while selecting particular types of flanges.. like Slip-on, weld neck, socket weld..etc. or how do we decide which type of flange is to be selected..?

Also, when set-in, set-on and set-through type connection to shell shall be used..?

Yes this is always a dilema when to use integral or loose etc.
