Thread: Cyclone Separators HELP!

  1. Cyclone Separators HELP!

    Hello guys!

I'm having some issues designing a cyclone separator for an high liquid-low gas, oil/gas stream. The cyclone will operate as a degasser for a Gun Barrel tank (dehydration tank). What do I have to consider to design the liquid drain and gas exit, are there any velocity constraints in the design of cyclones or something like that?. Hope you can help me here!

Just make sure your velocities are sub-sonic and the gas exit line is going to be centre/concentric as the heavier liquids will be on the outside due to centrifugal force.
