    Hi friends;
    I need some information and documents about seismic forward modeling through outcrop study. Please help me!
    Thanks in advance

    oh, hello Mohammad, you are also studying forward seismic models now? How are things? I am trying to make 2D seismic model from parameters of rock properties....
    How about you?

  6. Hi man,
    My post was belonged to around 2 years ago!
    I did a forward seismic model in 3D.
    What did in my job, I made a facies model through the outcrop and then the acoustic properties (velocity and density) of each facies were extracted from logs acquired in real oil fields. These extracted parameters were assigned to each facies in the generated facis model along the outcrop.
    Afterward, a section of acoustic impedance and reflectivity coefficient can be generated along the outcrop.
    All of this procedure can be performed easily in Petrel.
    Good luck man, have a nice model!

    please can you explain to us how to perform All of this procedure in Petrel ?
    how to use the reflection coefficient volume to make 3D seismic forward model ?
    did you use any kind of ray tracing ??
    thank you
