Thread: Hysys depressurisation utility for supercritical fluid

  1. Hysys depressurisation utility for supercritical fluid

The case is related to a mixture of hydrocarbons (74% methane) having critical temperature =-26 C and critical pressure= 93 barg. The cold depressurisation starts at 205 BARG and 5 C. The start condition is above critical pressure/temperature and HYSYS shows phase fraction= 1, i.e liquid. Any body has experience. Please provide guidelines in using HYSYS for such case.

Go to themodynamic package in HYSYS, select phase behavior as VO model instead of Default. This will help.
