So I work for a major utilities company as an intern. I need to write a report on how to conduct a depth of cover survey for a pipeline. There is the conventional way of conducting this survey by hiring a surveying crew and use a line detector to determine the depth. However, I really want to kill this report. So I am looking at new ways the industry is conducting these surveys or a new technology that does this without needing a survey team. If you could provide me with some links or ideas that would be great.
