Pipe separator is used in offshore well platforms to facilitate instrument and utility gas. Well fluid stream enters this pipe separator which has three tappings. one, the wet gas from production line (gas with oil/water) enters pipe separator gas gets separated from liquid and comes out from outlet taping and liquid falls back to production line. this drier gas fron pipe separator outlet goes to instrument scrubber , cooler and pressure regulator. I want to know the design of pipe separator, whether this is a simple pipe or it contains some separation devices eg baffle, mist extractor etc. Can somebody explain the entire philosophy behind this
