    design calculations of mechanical clamps for leak repair

    Hi Friends, i'm developing a mechanical clamp spreadsheet for leak sealing. The thickness of cylindrical shell and flat plates are calculated according to ASME BPVC VIII-1, but I don´t know how to calculate the thickness of clamp lug plates. How could i do this? Regards from Falcon, Venezuela.

    Ok, calculastes con la UG-27 el espesor del cuerpo (shell) y quieres saber como calcular las lenguetas, &#191;pregunto? te refieres a los sectores o segmentos verticales donde se apoya el shell sobremedido. &#191;las lenguetas son los segmentos de apoyo del shell sobremedido? rioca57, puerto Ordaz

    Revisa la UG-34 y UG-35, yo he instalado juntas de expansi&#243;n sobremedidas en intercambiadores de calor, por supuesto con c&#225;lculos certificados por PATHWAY y en general el espesor de los segmentos (lenguetas) es ligeramente mayor al espesor de la cascarilla o shell, sin embargo es mi caso particular, revisa los p&#225;rrafos indicados.

    En efecto, los espesores de la carcasa cil&#237;ndrica han sido calculados por UG-27 y por el App. 1; y las Tapas planas a los extremos por UG-34.

    En efecto, los espesores de la carcasa cil&iacute;ndrica han sido calculados por UG-27 y por el App. 1; y las Tapas planas a los extremos por UG-34.
