can you give a source which provides backup for your quote that autopipe is prevalent lately to CII?
On my side, Autopipe is more user-friendly than Caesar.
I second the thoughts of elpepe in Coade/Intergraph forum[link Point to another website Only the registered members can access]
If I have a choice, it is Autopipe.
By the other hand, Caesar II had the benefit of a brilliant lobby made by Coade Forum, so become like a Club.
I don't know details about scoring; they are just tools and user should develop the ability to work with such tools.
Knowledge necessary to understand your input accuracy and software results cannot be substituted by the fact one software is more productive than other or -in a particular case- one of them is more closed to hand calculation than other (however the last one taking also correctly more calculation parameters).
True, in my opinion Autopipe is more accurate for underground (but I think is rather because I 'm able to handle it providing more accurate information, result of a long practice!), however for aboveground B31.1/ B31.3/ B31.4/ B31.8 the results of both are similar.
