Honeywell TPNServer OPC

Good day,

I am currently doing some pre-work where I will be required to write set point values to controllers via OPC. The DCS in question is a Honeywell TDC3000 and for the OPC Client, I am using Matrikon OPC Mobile. I manage to connect to the OPC Server (TPNServer in this instance) and all the tags can be browsed and valued read.

I have enabled "Full Control" on all the HPM and associated devices on the UCN. I am also able to write values to Numeric blocks, change tuning parameters etc. Where I am stuck however, is changing the parameters (.SP & .OP) of the regulatory control blocks. I have put the PID block in Program mode - Auto, tried every permutation of remote set point sourcing, but to no avail, I cannot write a SP via OPC.

Any ideas of how to proceed?

PID block in Program mode are not avaible to set .SP by operator, only by another block such as CALC or PID. May be set mode to Operator - Auto?

Thanks for stating the obvious. The .SP will not be changed by the operator, but by the OPC, and as I stated, I tried all the permutations of modes & remote set point source options.

Hi,
You need to change the PID block type from PID-Norm (if you are using this one) to PID-SPC type. And to be able to write the SP, the mode need to be changed to CAS mode.
