    Tight gas Reservoir

    Dear Expert;
I wanna take yr advise about the proper workflow and methotodology to deal with the tight gas reservoir.
I have some question regarding this issue:
1- What' s the best method to localise the sweet spots (it can be done by the seismic ???? doesn t need any calibration with sonic data), my problem is that I have seen some fractures from the FMI logs but I am not sure if they are closed or cemented
2- Another question about the Hydraulic fracture, what's the best method to simulate them in the model (negative skin can cause some probleme in the divergence of PEACEMAN equation, Local grid refinement can takes many times !!!!) is the new method in Petrel (2008.1) based on MULTX, MULTY and PI modifiers relevant for that ??? (I am using FracPro to modelise the fracture ..... but I need to check how can I implement it in Eclipse)

3- Can the horizontal well be a solution .....but how we can drill a low permeability rock fast and cheap ????

Please I am waiting for answer and also I am looking for any papers or reference that can guide me

    Thanks in advance

    God bless y

Wow, your questions are relates with geology, seizimic, numerical simulation and exploitation techniques. I doubt if anybody is qualified enough to answer all these questions.
Well, if you have eough production data you can try to anlyze them using RTA. From where you can can get answer about resvr size and permeability, and skin. Which might also answer the quality of fault.
    Otherwise you can try numerically.
In regard with the frac you can discuss the matter with service companies, but generally it should be a deep reaching frac.
FEKETE has also a program (beta) called evolution where different tight gas scenarios can be evaluated as well as vertcal vs. horisontal.

The horizontal wells may be a good response for tight gas reservoir.
However the pay zone need to be thick enough to have not trouble during drilling. Also, these wells may need to be fractured. The depth of the reservoir may be a problem,
In Oman there are several gas reservoirs having only horizontal wells. So if you have some freinds there they may share their experience with you.

    many thanks for your answer.
Unfortunately I don't have a production data and I can not make a decline curve analysis, Material balance calculation seems to be not useful in this kind of reservoir due to the transient flow .... we don' t reach a pseudo permanent regime.
The only solution in this case is a hydraulic fracturation because I am dealing with gas condensate fluid which may cause a condensate banking in the vicinity of the well. (my question is what's the best tool to simulate the hydraulic fracture in Eclipse)
I heard that now we can import the Stimplan results in Reveal (is anyone aware about it) (Stimplan doesn't handel a condensate fluid !!!)
for the horizontal well, I tried to do a simulation with a lot of well path but still not getting a good results (specialiy with the current economical issue)

    Please could you advise
