This is a very lengthy and tricky subject, this could be couple of days long training course. What I advise you to do is to go to the version user manual thermodynamic chapter(s) and read carefully. You have to follow their recommendations unless you've a proof that their recommended method is wrong.
I hope my few words would help.

Sorry, but I don't have either the software or the manuals. I think if you managed to get the software you'd be able to find the User Guide. Try to post a request in this forum for your particular software&version a PDF file of the user guide.

the fluid package is not important for equipment, yuo must to read thermodynamics books and see the elements and th conditions you have, and read that equations es recomend for the situation, is important for the elements that you use.
