Thread: PRODE FLUID PROPERTIES with EXCEL 64 bits and MATLAB 32 bits

  1. PRODE FLUID PROPERTIES with EXCEL 64 bits and MATLAB 32 bits

I have a portable with Windows 7 64 bits, Excel 64 bits and Matlab 32 bits,
I have installed PRODE PROPERTIES 1.2 (which includes both 32 and 64 bits versions for Windows)
and it works fine with Excel 64 bits,
however PRODE 64 bits doesn't work with Matlab 32 bits,
can I manually install the 32 bits version for Matlab ?
If yes, how should I proceed ?
    Thank you for help.

Re: PRODE FLUID PROPERTIES with EXCEL 64 bits and MATLAB 32 bits

    Tinom,
as discussed in PRODE PROPERTIES operating manual PRODE PROPERTIES version 1.2 for Windows installs both 32 and 64 bits versions of the library on your computer,
however in 64 bits systems (for example Windows 7 64 bits) the 64 bits library is placed in /system directory while in 32 bits systems (for example Windows 7 64 bits) the 32 bits library is placed in /system directory,
by placing the library in /system directory the library becomes accessible to all windows applications,
in your case Excel 64 works fine as it links the 64 bits version of the library,
Matlab 32 cannot link the 64 bit library, however you can easily solve this problem by moving the library 32 bits (the file ppp.dll) in the directory where Matlab resides,
    this solves the problem.
The same for other 32 bits applications installed on your 64 bits system and unable to link the 64 bits version of PRODE PROPERTIES library,
    hoping this helps,
    Carlo

    thanks Carlo,
that solution (i.e. installing manually PRODE PROPERTIES library 32 bit in the folders of 32 bit applications requiring to access the library) has solved the problem,
by the way, can 32 bits and 64 bits versions of PRODE PROPERTIES exchange the same archives ?
