ASPEN HYSYS versus BR&E Promax

I am currently into the situation to choose between one of the two programs (see Title). My supervisor has given me the opportunity to decide what software i want on my computer. Looks like budget is not enough for both of them. Nevertheless, after having done some internet research i am not sure what to choose. I am pretty new to process simulation and have worked with HYSYS a couple of times. It is a nice program but i would like to know what are the advantages and disadvantages of both programs.

I know from some other colleagues that some companies prefer Promax because of lower cost and other prefer HYSYS based on industry wide reputation.

I would appreciate if someone can give me a quick overview.

Hi friend,
I am working in both, but for beginners I recommend ProMax and is cheaper.
Also, ProMax is easy and include sizing modules for equipments like exchangers and three phase separators.
Instead, Hysys need post processors like HTFS for size equipments.

PROMAX is very excellent simulation software for sulfur recovery process e.g. SRU and amine sweetening units. It is also preferred for gas processing simulation.
