Thread: vapor-liquid-solid equilibrium with Prode Properties and Excel 64

  1. vapor-liquid-solid equilibrium with Prode Properties and Excel 64

I am simulating a phase separation with Prode Properties and Excel 64,
Prode has several options for liquid and solid phase equilibrium,
I have mixtures with hydrocarbons, CO2 some TEG and water,
which model do you suggest to select ?
    Thank you for help.

I would consider the molar fractions of glycol and water,
for relatively high numbers you could consider

EOS with complex mixing rules (Wong Sandler or Huron Vidal)
    CPA (with association)
    SAFT (with association)

these (with proper parameters) should give accurate results.

    thanks dbert,
my license doesn't include SAFT model,
could CPA or Peng Robinson with Wong Sandler mixing rules be suitable for these mixtures ?

there are several papers discussing applications of CPA (Cubic Plus Association) to simulate dehydration plants,
I think you can obtain good results once the parameters have been properly tuned.
