We have completed a Major Project expanding an existing Hydrocarbon Storage Terminal with the following achievements:
- 11.7- Million Project Man-hours without a Lost Time Incident LTI
- 19 - Million Project Kilometres driven without a Personal Injury Incident. - (property and vehicle damage only)
- 3 - Million Cubic Metres of soil Excavated, Backfilled and Transported. This involved a huge amount of Heavy Equipment movement and operation with out a High Potential Incident.
There are many organisation and human factors that have enabled us to achieve these world class goals and I believe that one of the key factors was having the HSE Department fully involved in the planning stage of activities and tasks. This meant that the Project Management Team built in the HSE requirements when planning what equipment, materials and manpower they would be using. Clearly it is not that simple but this was just one of the pillars that supported the high level of HSE Management achieved on the project.
So, my question is 'Is Safety planned into upcoming activities and tasks in your organisation?'
Kind regards
Gentleman Jim
