  1. About Relative Permeability Curves of Fractures (naturally fracture reservoirs.)

    Hi, All:

I am doing a numerical simulation for a naturally fractured reservoir. It has sandstone matrix, and lots of naturally fractures.

we can get relative permeability curves of matrix from labs. But can we get lab measurements of rel perm curves for fractures???

I know most time, we just use straight line rel perm curves in simulation, and set this rel perm curve as a tuning parameter in history matching.

Could you please give me some suggestions or reference for rel perm curves of fractures? thanks in advance.

Re: About Relative Permeability Curves of Fractures (naturally fracture reservoirs.)

To represent the fluid flow in the fracture system, we use straight line curves and some people use the same concept but adding Swc and sowr to take into account the fracture plane rugosity.

For history matching you must understand what kind of process is displacing the hydrocarbon from the matrix, if it is an imbibition or drenage mechanism. The matrix capillary pressure is the most importante parameter used for history matching along with the fracture pore volume and fracture block size and others.
