    WT, Question?

    Hello,

I need tips, Practical, With regard to finding the "Shape factor." What I was doing, is looking at the location of the tested-well with repect to the Neighboring ones, and finding an approximation to the shape.

Any tips will be highly appreciated.

    Re: WT, Question?

Drainage area shape factor (Ca) is obtained from Reservoir Limit test, i.e. a Drawdown Test long enough to reach all boundaries. Refer to Earlougher's book on Well Testing, p. 29-30 (you already probably checked those pages). The shape factors shown by Earlougher correspond to those found by Dietz under Constant Rate conditions.

However, some time after Dietz's work, Wattenbarger introduced similar shape factors for Constant Pressure conditions (refer to SPE 39970, which I strongly recommend to read since is a very insightful paper). If this condition approaches your current producing conditions you'll find this paper useful.
