Dear all,
I wonder how to calculate the transfered steam condition at the end of the pipeline if we know the condition at the pipe inlet (250 oC, 16 barg, 20ton/hr) through the pipeline DN250, 6km with 4"calcium silicate insulated.
Is it possible to do it like this?
Firstly, calculate the pressure drop in the pipeline, then subtract it from the initial pressure so the pressure at the pipe end is known.
Secondly, calculate the heat loss through the pipe then subtract it from the initial energy to find the enthalpy at the pipe end.
Finally, the steam temperature is found from the end pressure and enthalpy.
P.S. Could you please recommend any software that capable to calculate the process steam condition in the pipeline.
Your kind helps are highly appreciated.
Regards
