Hello all this is my first post.
I wish i had found this site earlier and i would like to thank everyone who contributes to further the knowledge of students like myself.
I am a 4th year student at Glasgow university studying an Meng in mechanical engineering.
Just last Thursday i attended the subsea 2013 conference in Aberdeen, i noticed that most of the company's there were in the business of design and servicing.
When i graduate i want to work in the fields if Thermodynamics , Heat transfer and Fluid dynamics since i enjoy these courses the most.
So my question is what can i do in the Oil and gas Industry which involves these subjects ?
where will i be based ?
Whats the demand like ?
What will the future hold ?
what is the working environment like ?
and finally ... i want to do something that i enjoy for the rest of my life and never get board of so that's why i want to work in thermodynamics and fluid mechanics field but i would be good to know how much the salary is from start to end of career.
can anyone put me in contact with someone in industry who are looking for an intern this summer ? so i can send my C.V. and get the process rolling.
Thanks in advance for any reply's.
Harry
