What's purpose of removable spool?

the main purpose of RS is for maintenance job especiaaly for big size piping for example when maintenance guys want to put spde or blind flange it needs a space so Rs installed for doing this job easily

Dear friend,

Yes, it is used for maintenance. But i think it is more simple if we use 1 spectacle blind. It has 2 positions: close and open for operation and maintenace condition.
Moreover, i see RS often come with a PSV. Is there a relationship between RS and PSV?
