I have seen ur request just now and i would like to say some thing about that topic, .............

i think , there are no such books through which u can learn the total PIDs or PFDs. But u can goto google search or sites like international standards for PIDs or PFDs. i hope u can get it.

Otherwise u can chat with me through mail and i think i can explain u from the basics. my id is subhashjai48@yahoo.co.in

I think there is a book from ISA whish is called :Instrumentation and Control Systems Documentation, it will help you and you can download it from this link :

It is a good idea what about if i arrange for conversation chat room on yahoo or another chat program and announce for all members and you subhashjai48 give free lecture about PIDs and PFDs

P&ID development is not an exact science. It varies from engineering contractor to another and company to company. You'll never ever master it until you sit on the desk/bench, develop one and go for a review where you get a lot of crap and criticism then go back to improve and improve your work.

The attached files are two parts of some criteria(guidelines) by PIP of how to develop a P&ID.
