Hello dear friends,
I'm new here and this is my first post. I had been trying to find information on the piping and instrumentation of a plastic processing plant. I'm looking specifically at a Polylactid Acid (PLA) processing plant that produces PLA pellet out of renewable sources. At the downstream end of the process, PLA pellets will be crystallised in an agitated vertical hopper to increase the crystallinity of the material before being dried and packaged. This is where my area of interest is.
I would like to know the typical piping and instrumentation of said process, the types of valve used, the handling of the pellets, typical safety hazards, and types of control implemented. I would think established plastic plant in the market such as PET and PE would have similar processing technology to PLA.
Thank you in advance.
